November 24, 2021 – JOLT – Who Has Saved a Piece of Your Hide??
“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” – John F. Kennedy

Thanksgiving didn’t start out of the blue. . .
as being about turkey or even family. Rather, it was a big “THANK YOU” to the Native American Wampanoag tribe and their chief, Massasoit, for saving the hides of the first settlers.
After half of the Mayflower’s original colonists died during their first harsh winter, the tribe taught the survivors how to grow corn, to fish, to pull maple syrup from trees and how to avoid poisonous plants.
So, they celebrated after their first successful harvest and joined together with their helpers to express gratitude and rejoice in the blessing of life itself.
In that vein, I offer you a simple challenge for this holiday:
Who saved your hide this past year? Will you reach out and thank them? By when?
On my end, I want to thank you, as a subscriber to my (sorta) weekly JOLT Note. There’s been LOTS of changes going on here in my world, with a new book coming out in next year (after 19 years in development) and some related shifting of plans.
I appreciate your giving me a (sorta) weekly opportunity to attempt to creatively inspire, and ALWAYS appreciate your replies of what most makes a difference and helps you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Now go thank those who’ve helped you!
Think differently, play better.
Radically,
Darrell
